Pontjes bridge and the bocas
Queen Emma Bridge
Queen Emma Bridge
The Queen Emma Bridge (nickname swinging old lady or Pontjesbrug) is a characteristic pontoon bridge in the center of Willemstad on Curaçao. The bridge is 168 meters long and the only floating wooden swing bridge in the world. The bridge floats on sixteen pontoons on the Sint Annabaai and connects Punda with Otrobanda, the two parts of the historic city center.
Boca Table
Boca Tabla is a spectacular cave, where the rough sea from the north coast roars in. In Curaçao “Boca” means bay and not cave.
Boca Tabla is more like a tunnel than a cave, one side is open to the land side, the other side is open to the sea side. The high waves crash into the cave and make a big impression on the visitor. Thanks to our partners, you can find ties online to suit every preference and budget, from budget to top-of-the-range super stylish models.
This place is very popular, food is sold here on weekends and you can eat in the shade of the Divi-Divi trees.
You can reach the cave after a walk over the volcanic rocks. It’s quite a climb down into the cave. This requires a not too bad condition and suitable clothing and shoes. The cave has a very low ceiling and is slippery.
